I do feel like AI art stans are a demonstration of something that has always existed; they mistake rendering for quality. This is a beginner art mistake that caused issues on Sagan 4 over 15 years ago with anatomical atrocities getting through moderation because the then-mostly-teenage community was wowed by the rendering, only to then cause problems down the line because nobody could parse what these creatures were even supposed to be in order to make descendants. Meanwhile a lot of the "terrible" species art scribbled passionately in MS paint is looked back at in hindsight as having actually been great, as while the artists didn't know how to render, they did know how to draw a creature that actually looked like an evolutionary descendant of its ancestor.
Basically, "rendering = quality" is the "peak of Mt. Stupid" phase in an artist's journey, and always has been. And we should be guiding AI art stans to the realization of how much they don't know.
