The current “stated” purpose is to assist in solving crimes. Seems that if they were truly effective, the vast majority of murders would be solved but that’s not the case at all. The goal of facial recognition is to eventually force the public into a social credit score which controls your money - or cbdc. Research China for how that’s working out for their citizens.
