Workers generate all the profits and surplus, but don’t receive fair wages or security while companies offshore jobs for short term extraction. This is the difference between democratic capitalism, which is sustainable and fair, versus extractive capitalism, which is purely transactional and short term. The founders designed the preamble to counter this and to balance people with wealth and power vs the common people to allow for fairness and balance. That’s what the entire preface of the constitution was for, for the people, and it states clearly to “promote the general welfare”. Meaning not to take care of people literally, but to make sure that the structure of how everything was run was fair and in the spirit of democracy. It really is a Supreme Court issue and we should go back to the original meaning of the constitution.
