I am still struggling with ‘vibe coding’ in Xcode to make sure my video-capturing app handles the rotation correctly: the damn thing keeps piling up complication upon complication, introducing bug upon bug. It may be argued whether AI can EVER ‘replace humans,’ or whether it can one day get purely emotional, at their core, motivations like the lust for power and make the sci-fi sagas come true. I have my personal opinion on this – based on 35 years in software development, BTW – but that’s not the point. Philosophy aside, the AI is NOT ready NOW. More importantly, it’s not how it was meant to be used. It was meant to be a TOOL that spares us the trouble with the ROUTINE and the BOILERPLATE. It’s corporate greed that seized this perceived opportunity to cut more jobs and save a buck or two. Repeat, CORPORATE GREED – and ignorance, NOT technology.
