They can't replace those of us who easily connect the dots across multiple domains using meta cognition. At least not currently. The ironic part is that they appear to meet the absolute peak of functionality and efficiency when someone like that is using them... they just function as the extension of that person's memory instead of acting like an extension for their brain... the person becomes the brain for the AI and vastly improves its accuracy and efficiency.
