I have a small business that does industrial component repairs. We repair stuff that factory/municipal/DND maintenance crews dont have the expertise/time to handle. So mechanical work, machining, welding...electrical repairs. I was going to retire and sell or wind up this business which has only ever been modestly successful for two generations. My two adult children work in the city one in marketing and sales, the other in urban planning. I am rethinking this sale/windup issue now and am planning to keep the company going and preserve it at least for another 4-5 years just in case my two lose their jobs...and/or there is a cataclysmic 2008-10 style failure of the economic system. Im hedging because of this new AI world...which I know nothing of. If there is a fundamental reset no AI can do what we do...at least my two will be able to earn a living. Strange times
