I think what people are missing the most is the idea that one of Tesla or Waymo needs to win. There is plenty of market to go around. Capturing 20% of the ride hailing market would be an absolutely massive win for either company. The cost reductions that will be realized vs Uber/Lyft today will also cause the total market to grow substantially as well.
