For me it’s this. I want to see an idea realized, I want an image or character brought to life exactly as I imagine it. I am no artist. I haven’t yet put in the time enough to be able to claim I’m any good. But AI… AI has never gotten it right. It’s almost not even something you can adequately express… there’s just no soul, nor nuance, nor intent nor passion in anything I’ve ever used AI to create or seen AI create. Commissioning artists is expensive, but preferable, but their own interpretation and style is the result… which is good! But… I had to give away idea to have it made, if that makes sense. AI doesn’t do it for me, and Artists that I like are expensive and hard to find. I just need to put in the time to get good myself.
