We won't get replaced by AI, we will get replaced by money hungry CEOs and shareholders knowing nothing about technology replacing us with substandard AI that has been marketed as "already mid to senior level software engineers". Those left over will then get worked to the grave maintaining the AI code.
That dev survey was biased positively towards AI. It needed an answer of "Yes but I don't think AI has been that useful in my work" and "Yes and AI has been very useful in my work" instead of just "yes"
