Software engineer here: unless the clients know exactly what they want, every manager knows exactly what they want, every team knows exactly what needs to be done, every possible process is predefined, every hacking attempt isn t human... dev jobs will still be there. Or my new ai coworker will start complaining too lmao. For us to disappear, everything gotta go as well. BUT it ll be difficult since ai needs humans to widen its database and learn.
AI is very helpful as a tool and perso helps me code faster and MOST importantly write good emails cuz i need help saying "you fuxked up" professionally lol. For coding. AI is smart, but still dumb when generating actual secure code that you can deploy for production the higher the complexity. Specially for new problems not documented else where.
Vibe coder are also becoming more and more popular with barely any dev background.. which i think is very BAD since you need a min of understanding of what you're dealing with before diving into difficult seas. Else it s a non-vibe coder that ll be stuck debugging☠️
