People used to think automation would create such a situation. Those who lost compensated for life. They were forced to work somewhere else. And presumably, nothing changed since then. People who lose their jobs (or already have) will be worse off than before.
In fact, the only thing that changed is that the industrial revolutions brought incredible economic grow with them, which meant that new jobs were created and people were somewhat able to scrape by because they had the opportunity to either go for more complex jobs, or change careers entirely as economies became mostly service-driven and not industry-driven.
AI does't seem to be able to bring such economic changes. So in fact, the most likely thing that will happen is that a very low amount of jobs will be created, a whole lot of jobs will be lost but most people just won't get to change their life and the only people who will benefit from this will be AI companies and other companies which changed fired people. Maybe, just maybe, there's something wrong with this system...
Good luck to all of you.
