Though it's been years, I spent two years in college for 3D animation and video game design and probably would have used AI locally for rapidly iterating through different ideas for outfits and whatnot just to put together a rough reference to riff off of. The biggest obstacle I encountered in my time trying to do modelling and texturing and whatnot was creating and holding a consistent image in my head. I've got "aphantasia," so I can't just produce and hold a full mental image for any meaningful period of time. I can focus on one, small part for five-to-ten seconds but it's difficult to tell if the image I'm thinking of at second 10 is entirely unchanged from the one at second 1, if that makes any sense. I can't really even tell if the image I'm holding in my mind is changing as I focus on it. If I even have a vague or rough reference to look at to sort of "refresh" the image in my mind and provide a concrete, static thing I can look at to make sure I'm keeping things consistent, it could be pretty helpful and help keep me from getting frustrated. That being said, though, I don't think it's worth it. Even if I were still involved with 3D animation, I likely still wouldn't use it on principle. I refuse to appropriate the labor of others without their consent regardless of how it may benefit me. Balls and also ass to that.
