I feel like a lot of these arguements are either agregious examples of cherrypicking, appeal to emotion fallacies and/or false equivalences. For example, your counter arguement for the 'digital art' retort by showing a side by side of you drawing on a piece of paper/tablet and then juxtaposing that with a Google search and a properitary img2img text prompt. I find this arguement to be disingenuous for two reasons. A) Because there is more to AI image tools than simple proprietary txt2img sites. I bet if you tried showing more open-source tools like Comfyui img2img, depth/line maps, openpose, inpainting, segmentation, etc., it would completely render your entire comparison moot. It seems like you're making the arguement that the quality of art is simply determined by the level of effort put into it which leads me to my second point. B) The amount of time and effort spent to produce a piece of art does not automatically determine/define the quality or validity of said art. If this truly were the case, a lot of artforms and mediums would be rendered moot and invalid, especially when compared to others. If you were to compare something like analog painting to something like digital photography, of course the latter would take significantly less effort. It would take even the most skilled painters like Da Vinci hours if not days at a time to paint or recreate a scene whereas a photographer can do that in mere seconds. And yet, we don't say that photography isn't an artform do we? The truth is that the validity and merit of a piece of art is primarily determined by the tastes and preferences of the individuals and groups consuming it. Take the modern art debate for instance. Despite many people (myself included) criticizing the level of pretentiousness and elitism that a lot of these pieces exhume, someone at a museum (and lots of other people apparently) decided that it was a good idea to put a BANANA ducttaped to a wall and present it as 'high art'. And it was sold for over 100,000$... If something as banal and inane as THAT can be considered an artform, I don't see why something made with Stable Diffusion can't also be as well under the right circumstances.
