My Grandfather on my mother's side was a talented artist and I can't draw hands for the life of me. I was hard and honestly got made fun of a lot for my lack of talent. But I recently in the past few years took up some pencils and stopped giving it a half assed effort. Found tutorials in books and online, got tips from artsy friends and forced myself to actually try. Still struggle with hands and faces but through chance I found my talent as a writer and storyteller. Now as a dm for my tabletop group I draw custom items and materials for our game and I draw with my words, and paint with imagination that will likely stay out of the reach of ai for some time. I had a talent but that never stood in the way of gaining skill. I still think I suck at drawing but every so often I make something I'm proud of.
