I wanna give a bit of a ray of hope about this, even if it’s not quite equivalent. But it’s an analogy that still kinda fits. Back before printers, people would write books by hands. Handwriting could become an issue for readers, and it would take a long time to make a single copy of a book, meaning very few people were ever able to really write much. With the printing press’ arrival, though, now it became much easier and more efficient to write things like books. And it became more accessible to people, and made their jobs easier. And look at the modern day; just because writing got easier and faster to automate doesn’t mean authors disappeared. I get that it’s not exactly the same thing as AI, thanks a bunch to other implications revolving its capabilities. But in terms of it taking jobs…I feel like there’s two things that can act as hope. Firstly, advancement in stuff like this isn’t…inherently a threat. Change and evolution is always intimidating, but it’s not always for the worst. People were against seatbelts when they first showed up. And secondly, if nothing else..I’m sure something will happen soon with AI that’ll get higher ups to snap out of it and have regulations on stuff so things like this WON’T be a threat. Anyways that’s all, sorry if stuff is incorrect, it’s just something I overheard in relation to stuff like this, and I wanted to spread a bit of hope.
