Previous Innovation was about increasing productivity and creating new abilities. AI is all about replacing human workers. I believe that this is why they are pulling out all the stops. A future where the wealthy we'll have all of their needs met by technology without the need for other people is very appealing to these kinds of wealthy people. So therefore they have all banded together the government and the tech giants, in order to achieve this Utopia for them, and I believe they will just let people fall into abject poverty and eventually half the population will disappear
