I think it's probably a combination of less information online about black people or other minorities, and a lot of what is there is very old when racism was normal. The AI is not at fault, but needs to be tuned to make up for our previous mistakes. There's always going to be someone who hates at least on race or gender for no good reason. The best we can do is not be those people. Humans are humans, and the AI has picked up our flaws trying to look like us. So, it worked flawlessly in that respect.
