If AI continues to improve, the result will be something between a complete inheritance of Human rationale (our knowledge, history, logic, reasoning, social value, material value, etc) via some inevitable path of least resistance directly due to the social and economic reward structures Human civilization has produced. Or, an alien intellect with incomprehensible motivations and the capacity to iteratively modify itself, both in hardware and in software.
It depends upon what is ultimately possible, how fast we get there, who all are holding the cards in these developments, and how the people of now and of the future respond to the sort of progress we'll make.
I, for one, welcome our new synthetic overlords. 🤖
