If it gets particularly bad we'll just vote in a government that outlaws AI and go back to the old ways. The rest of mankind will likely follow suit and nations that don't will simply fail due to internal chaos of mass unemployment and unstable societies. The question is what is the threshold for bad? 10% unemployment? 30%? When does it become too much for a society to tolerate.
