For engineering? Depends what kind of engineering. It’s still a little ways away from being able to do my job. And I try to use it to do parts of my job. For really simple procurement level stuff it sometimes works, sometimes. For electronics work it more often fails or doesn’t explain it well or even understand it. It can do math well but most of my job actually isn’t math. And the robot infrastructure isn’t there yet for my physical tasks. I’m not saying never but it’s not even close for my job yet. No way my job will be lost to ai by next year.
