I get people are mad at AI but artist are not entitled to peoples money. How does it “steal” art. It’s using it as reference for making another piece of art. Humans literally do the same thing but it’s not considered stealing. Edit: For those who don't understand. "Time" does not make an art piece art. Should we have timers for how long it takes to draw something? What if the machine took 5h to make it? Would that be considered "art" now? You have to apply the logic to other places in order to understand this at a DEEPER perspective rather then ones own feelings. Just BECAUSE something/someone uses a lot of references doesn't count as stealing. Humans do the exact same thing yet we don't classify that as stealing. The number of references you use doesn't make it "stealing." Stealing is TAKING something that is not yours. If something is taking an IDEA and then creating something new with it that is NOT stealing. We do it, and the machine does it. Now if it was a 1 for 1 copy, and nobody was referenced/gave permission to use it then that'd be a different story. Example: If I see someones painting, and decide to use some of the ideas that they used in the painting does that count as stealing? (Fun fact: every artist or individual that draws does this) Everyone is so hyper-emotional they over this. I understand that art is CLOSE to you but to claim at AI art is "stealing" is simply stupid, and a very emotional response that lacks perspective. You guys gotta be better then hyper-emotional people.
