I am less in favor for the UBI as I used to be. It fails to incentivize accountability for the owners of production. Firms would love to boost their production through AI while lowering costs through layoffs. The paradox is the workers can no longer afford the products they once produced. UBI just shifts the responsibilty over to the taxpayers so that we can continue to consume. So then what's the incentive to NOT lay people off from the owner's perspective?
