I also make art. But i know the concequences of placing my artwork on the internet. You show what you can do, people hire you for an artwork, you get paid, and then you post it. You CAN get money. The moment you show your art it becomes public, just like you expressing your opinion- anyone can talk to you. Im against someone coppying hair-by-hair or using the raw image for profit. But if its an AI using the style, the base, and meshing it with THOUSAND of others. I dont see the problem. Its a consequence--If you dont want that, dont post it. I try to say for the AI developers to mesh it BETTER instead of making their work harder, just how a person draws with many works as reference, and one day, they become good enought that the copy starts to become something new. I just find it hipocritical, when a person does it its fine, but when its a machine does it it isnt? People use references for their OWN artwork for thousands of years, does that make it a copy of what you did? No! Everytime someoene draws an anime style it is a evolution of a copy then. Everyone believes that one is not being empathetic to one another, everyone believes the other is brainwashed, doesnt think about others or is plain ignorant for having another opinion, every offence (from you or from others) come from one of these beliefs, and thats just one of the many issues of this debate. These AI provide people who cannot draw something closer to what they want. The issue is to valorize handmade/man made art, instead of being angry because you feel like the machine is stealing your money
