We have to make something to stop AI companies from using without consent, credit or compensation the work of millions of artists to create models that are replacing those same artists. GenAI companies are profiting of the unpaid labour of millions of artists across the world, acting as if licensing deals aren't a thing and devaluing the work of artists not only by stealing it in the first place but by using it to create a model that can generate images for a fraction of the price, so clients decide to use the Gen AI images because it's cheaper. GenAI images are also flooding the internet making it hard to find real human art. Those companies have stated multiple times that it would be disastrous for them if they had to consult and pay artists for their work, art is valuable and every company knows this but they treat it as if it isn't.
