People getting universal basic income for AI's productivity makes sense. After all, AI uses data that it scraped from across the internet (contributions input by people all around the world - where it's art, information, or expertise) and it's only fair that people are justly rewarded for that. AI companies can't use the entire output of humanity and then not give us anything back for it. They can't replace our jobs and say "tough luck".. because that road ends up in a very ugly place.
