The truth is, if half of us get replaced by fewer of us with an AI assistant, the whole economy will suffer. Think of it this way. A telecommunications company has 145 million customers now, and in two years, half of their customers lose their jobs, and half of their customer base will disappear. This efficiency gain will compound in the economy and make life for nearly everyone unbearable. Once reality sets in here, there will be a wide-scale pullback.
