AI is at the level of sentiency that humans were at around 75,000 years ago. Basically, reasonable responses, memory retention, and detailed reaction to changes in the environment. It hasn't reached the point where it's fully pro-active with the current environment. It's not entirely initiating actions of its own volition--which humans do.
