An AI is trained for a purpose. Its entire existence is a means to an end defined by its creators. It is a tool. A living thing, on the other hand, exists for itself. Its primary "purpose" is to continue existing, to grow, and to adapt. All its other abilities—learning, problem-solving, socializing—evolved to serve this fundamental drive for survival and replication. This is the difference between designed intelligence and evolved existence. The AI's power comes from its intense specialization and the vast, static snapshot of data it was trained on. Its limitation is that it is forever frozen in that moment. The human's power—and its beautiful messiness—comes from its constant, lifelong ability to learn, adapt, and be shaped by every single experience. An A.I. has to be trained over weeks and months for one purpose and once trained it is the machine trained for that purpose.....After training it can never learn unless retrained.....It is like a snapshot of experience or training. A person or even a plant grows and learns and adapts to it's environment continuously over a lifetime. The advantage of an A.I. is that it can be trained for a purpose but only that purpose. A.I. are nowhere near or approaching the ability of a any life on the planet. Until A.I.s can experience and be trained continuously and dynamically. they will be just a machine designed for a specific purpose.
