AI is fine when it’s still a tool. When it’s not the one making the art—you are. When it’s just helping you do so. It’s like a paintbrush vs finger painting. Both are valid forms of art, but one of them uses something else to help. But if you just put the paintbrush on display and say that the paintbrush itself is art, that’d be debatable, but even if it was art it certainly wouldn’t be yours for just buying the paintbrush and taping it to the canvas. That’s sort of my stance on AI art, but it’s a bit blurry where the line is between the AI helping you and you helping the AI.
