It's not just criminal justice. Sadly, when it comes to jobs, many companies are using facial recognition software to screen applicants. Apparently there are so-called "cues" facial movements can give to identify good candidates. I'm sure there is racial bias there as well. One of the things I've learned as I've grown older is that if you're a person of colour, the system really is designed to keep you down. And if you haven't experienced it yet, you will at some point.
