At least in the Netherlands, people are already working half the time of what people used to do over 100 years ago. (60 - 70 hours then to now 30 - 36 hours a week)
- Some jobs might not be needed any more, others still will remain at least human supervised. The needed work that's left will just get distributed between those who are able to work.
- Perhaps that means 3 days, 4 - 6 hour work weeks. Maybe more, maybe less. But I don't believe work will completely disappear any time soon.
- Transitioning to a new normal will always take time, with a lot of measures to soften the blow to those who (would) lose their jobs.
