I understand the critiques to "AI"* "art"**. I personally like using "AI" tools to create images. However, I don't claim to be an artist. I do not show them around. I do not claim to own them. I also never use the images I generate as part of a commercial endeavour or to replace art done by an actual artist. I personally have zero drawing skill. I've tried. I'm just incompetent at anything related to drawing with pen and paper. I'm halfway decent at digital coloring and photo editing. I do however feel the drive to do art. I thus use "AI" "art" to scratch that itch. I do edit generated images to fix the issues. One thing that you try to say, and that at least with the tools I've used, is not like that, is that it's very often much easier to draw/edit an image yourself (and maybe run it through the generative tools) than it is to get the model to do the edits for you. IME, trying to use generation tools to perform precise edits is a fool's errand. * I don't consider this to be artificial INTELLIGENCE. I feel calling this AI is a misnomer. There's no intelligence here. ** I don't consider generated images to be art. In order for something to be art, there needs to be an artist. I consider image generation to be the artistic equivalent of taking 3D assets, randomly tossing them on a 3D environment, and hitting render.
