Something I've encountered wth AI generators is limited their ideas are. I have tried to generate things to see if it could generate the ideas I came up with, and several different generators and iterations of prompts later, there wasn't a single image even close to the ideas I was trying to get. This proved to me that AI can only imitate existing media and thus was useless to me. I believe a machine could never replace a human when creating art, because a machine cannot feel emotions and combine ideas the way humans can.
Personally, I would have less of a problem with AI if the companies running them weren't profiting off of stealing other people's art.
There is a lot of good generative AI could do, if used ethically. However, the people running the AI's do not care about being ethical or furthering the betterment of society as a whole, but money. They only care that it's the "in" thing that is making them easy money.
