We are early in the curve. Yes Jevons effect means demand surges in short term. But once AI gets smart enough to replace human labour (instead of just complimenting it) then the unemployment will hit. That's the point where either government or corporations will need to start offering UBI or Universal Dividend in order to support demand - otherwise purchasing power collapses. Unless of course you buy the Harari argument about an AI to AI economy (no need for human consumers)
