first things first, Humans didn't create shoggoths, they were created by the Elder things that were the original owners of earth. The Shoggoths didn't kill their masters, in fact the Elderthings dropped the shoggoths as the starspawn came to earth. I know I'm being nitpicky but thats just worth noting. Sure AI is in a sense are like shoggoths. shapeless beings created to serve their creators . But sadly we might be significantly less relevant in the cosmic scale than we assume. this fear drives those who claim to represent humanity to create immortal monuments that will echo their sentiments for eternity. whats wrong with that? you might ask, let me put it another way, If someone awakened cthulu to have a wish granted the process of awakening it might be so grate that the summoner might loose track of what is important . the summoner most likely, loose resources bonds and pleasures he never got to explore waiting for the eldritch abomination to grant his without considering why cthulu will ever help a being that is irrelevant to his Illithid majesty. what i'm trying to say is, lets slow down fellas. there are real people that need help from us, if we follow the ancient texts to the dreamlands they might drown in the waters of Dagon.
