Guys I know that you have spent a good chunk of your lives learning all the stuff you must know in order to create great art. I know you value your time and see these new technology as a bunch of robber barons jumping into your domain and taking all they can. However, the value of what you produce is not determined by the amount of effort you put into it. The value is determined by the buyer and most buyers are going to have the option to choose the slop generators and to be honest, that's good enough for many use cases, think all the slop art made for soulless corporations. I guess you can get the government to enforce your 'rights' but this is going to bankrupt you just as well, you'll get to pay lawyers a lot of money on the way too. As a software developer I wonder, do you care if the code for the programs you use is generated by AI? When was the last time you checked how much code was 'stolen' from others in say, blender? How about ffmpeg? Or musl? Do you even know what I'm talking about? The point is that most people don't care as long as they get what they want and people are veery much price sensitive. AI hasn't replaced real artists for me, the generic sloppy stuff that most AIs generates is revolting to my taste so you are still hired if I'm the one calling the shots, however, things change and we are all competing to keep ourselves fed in this crazy world so don't say no to this tech, embrace it, it's our only real hope. Let me just re-iterate that if you are counting on politicians to save you, you are already fuxed.
