I think the blanket shaming/hate towards A.i makes it harder to push for ethical, regulated and legitimate uses of a.i. Including tools that advocate for, support and allow disabled folks to advocate for themselves and access tools that are available but still inaccessible for those of us with difficulties reading or finding information amongst legal jargon ect. or unaccessable to us because of cost. The bad-faith folk co-opting abilism to defend plagiarism is frustrating when there are many legitimate uses of a.i (non-generative) for disabled folks, particularly those with learning disabilities or brain injuries (like myself) or those who might have issues accessing tools like government resources or navagating the legal system without a tool that can help translate information and make it accessable. I personally have relied on it to help me navagate the legal system as someone who was abused as a child in a system that tries to hide abuse, and as someone whose disabilities make it extremely difficult to advocate for myself or understand my rights (because the system is designed to be confusing and difficult and discorage folks like me from coming forward). I would love to see true disability advocates not focusing on how 'lazy' it is to rely on tools that they personally don't need and push instead for sustainability (or access to tools and support that we can use instead)---- The a.i. art isn't art to me and isn't something that many in the disabled community actually engage with, but the shame and way our language is coopted and forced into that conversation often leads to shame being transfered onto us for legitimate use ect. So, I would love to see more folks push for ethical a.i, regulation and sustainable energy because I see that is more meaninful for supporting disabled folks
