The thing with Tyson is, he is probably incredibly smart in terms if his chosen field, and more than a few others, but he really hasn't grasped the concept of not running his mouth outside his expertise with an air of authority. He is though, that much must be said, more than gracious when someone actually kowledgeable corrects him. So when he talks about A.I., it's probably safe to take him about as seriously as when he claimed a helicopter with an engine failure just falls out of the sky. The issue isn't that he doesn't know a lot about computers. Hell, he very probably knows orders of magnitude more than I do. The issue is that when he doesn't know what he's talking about, he's practically indistinguishable from when he absolutely does.
