UBI becomes more important if and when robots and AI do almost all the work. We’re at the point where AI can start doing things like art and drafting legal documents and autocompleting programming code. In 50 years at this growth rate, will there be anything a human can do better than a robot or AI? So “tax” the robots, give UBI, and humans can retire.
