I do think talent is something people are born with, but skill is important too. If someone is born with talent and doesn't hone it through practice, someone without that talent can do 'better' through good ol hard work. I'm disabled, im shaky as hell, and my art is nowhere near as high quality as the stuff my talented friends make. But I make art anyway for the joy of it. Do the ideas i have in mind ever actually come out exactly as i wanted them to on paper? Hell no- im not that good. Does fabric and light fall realistically in my art? Hell no- my brain just isnt built for being able to run physics simulations on dresses in my head, and i was born with poor eyesight that lacks depth perception so i can never quite get the shadows to look right. Do I try anyway? You're goddamn right I do. There is no excuse for using AI as a replacement for actual effort.
