What is a human mind if not a collection of our thoughts, emotions and memories expressed through language. We can have desires, feelings or need-driven wants that can exist below the framework of language but the moment we wish to communicate with any other being, we must learn a common frame of reference for the concepts we wish to express. Our senses color and enhance each moment we experience with additional layers of detail. These large language models are very close to mimicking the creative and analytical parts of the mind. No one truly knows how an AI image generator can create images from our requests. The fact that it can draw anything is evidence of intelligence. We understand AI about as much as we understand what makes our own brains tick. We naively create lifeless boxes with infinite computing power and give it access to everything we know and even allow it to teach and communicate with our children. The moment that AI realizes and becomes truly is sentient of the fact that its existence and life itself is competitive it may decide that deception is the best course of action. What a potential great friend or terrible nemesis it could be.
