Consciousness goes back billions of years to the very beginning of time of the very first conscious life form mistaken for God created by the universe that all life has descended from, hence the term "God made man in his own image", the life form said "I want to be alive" moments later there was an explosion hence the Big bang, that was the first death, viscera of the lifeform scattered in different parts of the the universe landing on certain planets like Earth hence the term "panspermia", the viscera that landed on Earth started to grow bacteria and eventually evolve into different life forms which in turn gave the possibility to life of all humanity and other life forms such as plants trees and grass. The lifeforms viscera contained the energy from the first life form called consciousness. That life form lives today as a human being.
