I just used AI to solve a puzzle that had 20,000 possible permutations, and it generated and then ran the code and solved the puzzle, but I had to spoon feed it the approach step by step and ask it for sanity checks at every step, correcting its bad assumptions that a human would never had made, but it worked, and I never wrote a line of code. But I am a retired software designer, and this was my profession. Yes, there were low level tasks it might handle, but it could never decompose a complex problem to this level, IMHO, at least not yet.
