What we have today, IS INDEED defined as Artificial Intelligence. Quit saying "AI doesn't exist yet". That's 'moving the bar'.
Something CAN be intelligent, without being conscious. GPT-4 is consistently passing every intelligence test we give it, even entirely new ones it couldn't possibly have been trained on. If that's not intelligence, then the word itself is meaningless.
