The one thing that most of these "could" predictors ignore is when these machines will gain conciousness, right now, no one understands AI (other than may be a few hundred Engineers or at best a few thousands) so this is already beyond comprehension of the vast majority of human race. This makes it easy to just create layers of imagination.
