This alignment thing reminds me of Psycho-Pass (an anime), there, they (let's say, the government) have a system that can judge a human's inclination to commit crimes, so they can act on those inclinations before the individual can actually commit them (usually sending them to therapy). But then, the antagonist of the story, is someone that, despite having the clear intent of commiting crimes and even incentivising/manipulate others to do the same, the system fails to classify him as a criminal, instead judging him as an upstanding individual. Essentially, instead of judging his actions as good or evil, judging only his intentions, and interpreting them as good.
Can't wait for AI do to something similar.
