There is another possibility to why they were so willing to backtrack. Who's to say they have only just started allowing it to be trained? For all we know this AI has been being trained for months before they decided to let everyone know of their plans. DreamUp has been in the works for a long time now probably. Plenty of time for them to have trained up their AI for release. It takes a long time to train an AI. So 10 hours is no time at all given all the data it would need. So its very likely they already trained it up prior to this so it would start giving good results the moment it was up.
