As a non techy, Ai enthusiast: it's not self aware. It's just a fancy human calculator, it has no real understanding of truth and lies which are human constructs. The only truth it understands are inputs, it's only as truthful as the information its fed. It doesnt know when it's lying because response is truthful to the machince.
