In a consumer economy, businesses rely on consumers having income to purchase products. If automation replaces the workforce, how can anyone have the income to purchase goods? Automation in capitalism is inevitably self-destructive. The whole system implodes. The solution: you can either try to shut Pandora's Box and ban AI to preserve labor, or we adopt a new economic system - one that guarantees food, shelter, healthcare, and energy for everyone, and phases out capitalism.
