Never going to happen. I may be naive but I don't see this ever being rolled out on a scale that even begins to truly affect the overall health of the trucking industry as a whole. Even regionally. There are way too many safety issues that I don't think can ever be solved 100% and even more legal obstacles. This may be getting a pass on one route from one company in Texas but the vast majority of state and local governments are not going to allow this. You will end up with trucks having to route themselves around states and cities that are closed to driverless trucks like a patchwork of no fly zones or something. Never going to happen even if the tech is there 100%. Which it likely won't ever be either.
